Overview
Backed by a large US investors, Cobalt are working with one of the UK's largest real estate developers, currently seeking a commercially minded Financial Accountant. This is a very autonomous role working directly with the heads of investment both in the UK & US, as well as exposure to the development and operations teams on new strategies and investment/ development opportunities. The role involves taking the lead on underwriting new development opportunities alongside financial control of ongoing development projects. The successful candidate will be in a commercially facing role with a clear progression plan alongside some of the biggest names within real estate. Responsibilities include: Appraisal of new investment opportunities as well as communicating them to key stakeholders Business partnering the investment and operations team Assessing the impact of transactions and investments on group performance Challenge and stress test assumptions, and interrogate reported numbers to improve performance Lead financial due diligence Streamline internal processes to improve financial forecasting Control of expenditure on development projects Review assets and make recommendations to optimise their performance Requirements: ACA, CIMA, ACCA qualified Experience working within real estate, property or private equity Financial Modelling experience, ideally within Real Estate Knowledge of development cycles is desirable People management skills Strong analytical mind set If you work well within a team, looking to develop your core accounting skills and move into an investment focused finance role, please upload an up to date CV.
