Business Systems Analyst - Insurance, IRIS, EDI, Underwriting, Claims, Accounting and Actuarial functions. London Contract 6-12 Months £575/day - Outside IR35 Great opportunity to join a market leader, you will be joining an established team. Business Systems Analyst - Insurance, IRIS, EDI, Underwriting, Claims, Accounting and Actuarial functions. Main Responsibilities: Your role will be to maintain and support my clients International Insurance's instances of its IRIS application, a Policy Admin System provided by DXC. This includes defining, customising, performing systems testing and assisting user testing/ training for all business Change Requests as well as for any other existing or new Group insurance application solutions. A key project to be undertaken includes the setting up and implementation of electronic data messaging for my clients UK Branch operation. This will involve London Insurance Market EDI message processing and integration into IRIS. Assist with the support and maintenance of other key applications and data sources used by their International Insurance team. Ensure that all application Change Requests are processed according to the UK Technology Services' Change Request procedures. Ensure that deadlines are met using good project management practices and skills. As required, communicate project status in a timely and efficient manner to the respective project stakeholders. Liaise with external service providers, as necessary, and with all staff at all levels and departments. Work Duties: To customise (where appropriate), maintain and provide technical end user support for my clients International Insurance's applications. This includes the planning, implementation and upgrading of applications, as required, working with the other members of the UK Technology Services team. Analyse and translate business requirements into highly specified systems requirements. Develop, verify and test programs, using SQL scripts or other programmable modules based on user requirements or business rules. Produce test plans for Systems testing and assist with the creation of User Acceptance Test plans, supporting the UAT process through to successful completion. Ensure that all work and Change Requests follow appropriate standards and conform to all regulatory compliance procedures set down by my client Monitor and manage the resolution of software faults with vendors through to satisfactory completion. Liaise and work closely with Technology Services staff of all levels throughout the UK & European offices. Experience Required: A solid experience working as a business systems analyst in the insurance industry combined with a good understanding of underwriting, claims, accounting and actuarial functions. Experience of DXC's IRIS application and its business customisation functionality. Good experience and in depth understanding of electronic data messaging for the London Insurance Market, specifically EDI messages including DSIGN, CLASS and WSETT message types. Experience of other London Insurance Market technology initiatives, e.g. TOM, PPL, SDC, also an advantage but not essential. SQL programming language. Excellent communication skills - ability to comfortably communicate with both technical and non-technical people at all levels. Relevant degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
