Overview

Our client is a top US Law Firm based in the City. It seeks to appoint a Business Development and Marketing Coordinator who will work closely with the Business Development and Marketing Manager and the Business Development and Marketing Specialist to support the business development efforts of the Firm’s European offices, with a particular focus on the transactional practices including M&A, Private Equity, Capital Markets, Investment Funds, Finance and others. The Coordinator is a central part of the team and is involved in a variety of projects including: entering and maintaining data in the Firm's experience management system; assisting in the creation and maintenance of business development and marketing collateral, including pitches and other marketing materials; coordinating drafts of directory submissions and client references; coordinating activities to support cross-selling and client development across the European offices; and coordinating activities to improve the profile of the practices, such as sponsorships and events. S/He takes an active role in learning about the legal groups represented in Europe and in developing internal knowledge about the clients and business of the region. The Coordinator also works closely with the other Business Development and Marketing team members in different offices to coordinate business development efforts. It is essential that the Coordinator is a self-starter and works well in a team environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Works with the European practices to prepare and coordinate year-in-review reports for use in various industry survey submissions • Helps to develop and implement systems to acquire and manage representative experience in the Firm’s experience management system • Assists the Business Development and Marketing Manager and/or lawyers in the preparation of client proposals and pitches, through formal RFP response processes • Works with the team to help maintain a library of materials for pitches, proposals and RFP responses • Helps write and edit practice group descriptions, website news items, lawyer biographies and client presentations to further develop the Firm’s business development opportunities. • Helps conduct research on clients/prospective clients, industry research and occasional competitive intelligence to develop knowledge about our clients, their industries and legal needs • Works with the Manager and local practice leaders to support and coordinate regional business development initiatives, in collaboration with global practice area team liaisons • Helps support profile-raising marketing programs, events and sponsorships Ideal candidates must have legal marketing or business development experience and/or marketing or positioning in an international law firm environment or professional services industry.
