Overview
An advanced manufacturing castings company are looking for an experienced NDT Operative to join their team - experience of radiography within aerospace, nuclear or oil and gas industries would be preferred. Duties Include: Visual inspection of castings by direct observation and use of visual aids including mirrors and video-scopes to detect surface defects Non-Destructive examination using Fluorescent and Colour Contrast Dye Penetrants to reveal surface flaws Preparing castings for inspection using various cleaning methods ensuring suitability for effective inspection Routine control checks to validate the inspection process and verify equipment calibrations Process castings through the Penetrant application and removal process Assist in clearing excavations using penetrant inspection during the upgrade and repair process Keeping computerised inspection records and archiving paper records Evaluate the results and make accept/rejection decisions based on Customer Acceptance ratios Ensure continued compliance with the company's NDT Accreditations e.g. NADCAP and UKAS Non-Destructive Examination by Radiography using X-Rays to reveal internal discontinuities Load and unload film cassettes and process films, check radiographs against samples to ensure correct setup Restock Darkroom cupboards and replenish processing solutions, housekeeping duties etc View and interpret radiographs produced both in-house and externally by subcontractor and evaluate results Experience/Skills Required Include: Prefer a Level 2 Radiographer already qualified to PCN Level 2 however ASNT or NAS410 would be considered Must have experience of radiography of castings within aerospace, nuclear or oil and gas industry Qualification in Penetrant Testing and/or Magnetic Particle (MPI) Level 1 or 2 would be an advantage Must be willing to undergo any additional relevant training Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal Good team worker but someone who can also work under own initiative In return you will be be offered a competitive salary and benefits package.
