Income Officer Salary: £28,560 per annum plus car allowance of £1,460 Location: Liverpool Job Type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract About the Client: Our client are an innovative not for profit housing organisation, based in Liverpool. They own and manage 2,800 homes across Merseyside and are keen to grow by providing more new homes over the coming years. Their team of 80 employees, working alongside their partners, provide excellent services to their customers delivering on their key aim of 'putting customers and communities first’. About the Income Officer Role: As a member of the Income & Support Team, you’ll play a key role in providing advice and guidance to customers about rent payments and welfare benefits. Providing a customer focused income management service, you will work with customers to maximise rent collection, looking at preventative arrears work and providing money advice to help support our customers have successful tenancies. Ensuring customer accounts are well managed, you’ll have honest conversations with customers about their responsibilities to pay their rent on time and regularly, helping them make informed choices and signposting where further support is needed. Building effective relationships with colleagues and external partners, you’ll look at how we can collaborate with others to keep people in their homes wherever possible, and escalating cases where this might not be possible. Requirements of the Income Officer: Good knowledge and awareness of related housing regulations/ law Experience of delivering face to face customer service with the ability to have honest conversations with customers. Experience of developing partnership working with support agencies, local authorities and community groups. Good understanding of the social, economic and political context in the neighbourhoods in which we operate. Good understanding of welfare reform Experience of debt collection and providing tenancy support. Experience working in an RP, not for profit or public-sector organisation. Experience of using ICT systems - housing management, CRM systems and Microsoft office software.
