Overview

L GV Technician Davidstow At Gregory Distribution, we have a vacancy for a qualified LGV Level 3 Technician to work out of our busy Davidstow depot. Our Fleet Services Department is responsible for keeping our modern fleet of vehicles on the road. This currently consists of over 500 trucks and 700 trailers based at over 20 sites across the UK. This is a key position within our business and we rely on the expertise and competence of our mechanics to keep our vehicles and trailers on the road. You will therefore need to be flexible and have the ability to work on your own initiative. The position involves: · Diagnosing and fault finding of any issues with the vehicles and trailers. · Ensure all vehicles & trailers are maintained in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications, especially in relation to oil change parameters. · Ensure all parts are booked out correctly. · Ensure all legal documents are filled out accurately and on time and are readily available for processing. · Booking out time for each job that is carried out and the relevant paperwork given to the Workshop Controllers. · Ensure that best practice is always employed in relation to component replacement; repair duration; document completion. · Provide support and assist the workshop controller to meet and surpass all agreed targets. · Maintain a clean and tidy workplace environment. · Due to the nature of the role, Health and Safety and Safe Systems of work are paramount.You must ensure that you are following the company’s health and safety policy at all times. Essential Skills required: · Qualified LGV Technician up to Level 3 (Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and repair) · Minimum of 5 years’ experience required. · Intuitive diagnostic skills. · Ability to carry out PMI to DVSA standards. · Excellent communication skills. · Good team player. · Ability to work to deadlines and under own initiative.
