Overview
Database Engineer / Developer (Python MySQL Linux Go) Global trading company is seeking a technically-minded Database Engineer to work on and lead major projects involving a mix of database technology. As a Database Engineer you will be working with an up-to-the-minute tech stack and will be granted the freedom to select technologies you deem most appropriate for the task at hand. You'll take ownership of many parts of the stack, including embedding with trading and other teams. Day to day, you'll be involved with projects that span database engineering (e.g. deploying, scaling or managing database infrastructure) and working with teams to optimise business performance, on Schema design, architecture planning, technology selection and more. Requirements: You have significant experience working with open source database(s) You are passionate about solving challenging business problems with cutting-edge technology You're comfortable using programming languages for automated tasks (Python, Go etc.) You have experience using Linux to understand and troubleshoot an overall system You're proficient with SQL Desirable: experience working on petabyte scale data warehouses and distributed database systems, you have industry experience in finance / trading, you have experience with Python / Kafka / ETL pipelines As a Database Engineer you will earn a highly competitive salary (to £120k) plus bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
