Overview

To be the Ofsted registered Responsible Individual for all designated Homes and act on behalf of the organisation to ensure that the Homes meet relevant requirements set out in legislation. To provide effective leadership and management of Care Services-Residential for children and young people. To ensure a high standard of consistent care and service in accordance with legislation, central government guidance, regulations and standards, and the policies and procedures. To provide a lead in the decisions and management of placements within the Residential provision and to liaise with partners in formulating jointly agreed plans to ensure a coordinated approach to services for children and young people. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY RESULT AREAS Key focus for the role will be on: ·A strong commitment to the safeguarding, including Health & Safety, for all children and young people and staff in the services. ·A strong commitment to safe and appropriate recruitment to meet the needs of the children and young people and service. ·Ensure sufficient and appropriate levels and mix of staff are recruited and rostered in accordance with service user requirements at all times. ·Ensure staff are inducted, trained, motivated and supported to achieve company standards and deliver the highest levels of care. ·Providing and ensuring a high quality service, and experience of care, to the children and young people ·Ensure that all children and young people’s documentation and records are maintained to a high standard in a timely manner, and that education and a programme of meaningful activities is available to all children and young people. Implement appropriate systems to ensure compliance with requirements. ·Ensuring that all quality indicators are met for any assignment. ·Rapid improvement of quality within assigned homes with sustainability planning for long term. ·Acting as a Responsible Individual when and where necessary. ·Provide mentoring for Responsible Individuals within the Company. ·Develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, peers and functional colleagues throughout the company. ·Provide support to existing Home Managers in day to day operations ensuring that the service meets the organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal and regulatory requirements, environmental policies and general duty of care ·Ensuring that the service is financially sustainable including by safely supporting new referrals into the service and managing costs appropriately. ·Lead the implementation of new services, drives referrals and admissions and share best practice with other sites and the wider team. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA NVQ Level 5 in leadership and management Minimum 2 years management experience, out of which 1 year must be in a management position Previous experience leading Ofsted inspections Experience working with Looked After Children in an EBD Home. Excellent knowledge Children's Homes Regulations/Quality Standards. Full UK Driving Licence.
