Your new role: Nigel Wright are delighted to be supporting a prestigious business based in Darlington in their recruitment of a Business Assurance Officer. Working within the business assurance function and reporting into a great leader who is keen to develop their people, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a great business at an exciting time. Duties and Responsibilities: To deliver high quality internal audit engagements and reports to the business via recognised audit methodologies and in accordance with applicable professional standards. To develop and maintain relations with key stakeholders to optimise engagements and support risk and control embedding. To collaborate with the second line functions to support risk management and compliance. Working with management in an advisory capacity in undertaking specific reviews; providing challenge/support on controls and risk developments. To support the Head of Business Assurance deliver the internal audit plan through best practice audit techniques. To provide the insight into the annual audit planning process. To follow up on the implementation of audit actions. To provide assurance on project delivery. To monitor and appraise business interventions to mitigate risk. To support the Head of Business Assurance in preparing and delivering audit reports to broad stakeholder groups at Director level. Support in the delivery of the year end report, working with the external auditors and carry out any other audit, investigation and review work as may be required by the Head of Business Assurance. As the ideal candidate you will: Be qualified ACA, ACCA or IIA Have previous experience of leading audits. Be experienced in internal audit, risk, governance and controls. Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Have the ability to produce high quality reports which add insight and value to the organisation.
