Overview

Job purpose Based in the Unit Personnel Office HMS COLLINGWOOD, this customer-facing role provides a broad and flexible service to meet the contracted Personnel Administration requirements of the Armed Forces (predominantly the Royal Navy). Employed as one of three Supervisors with specific responsibilities, there is the potential to rotate through the various elements of personnel support delivered by the Unit Personnel Office to meet the needs of the business whilst mitigating the risk and the potential for service failure. Training can be provided, where appropriate. Responsibilities Tasking is delivered by 3 sections, each with its own Supervisor. As the Supervisor of the Personnel Administration Section there will be a requirement to: Maintain required contracted outputs to the appropriate standard and agreed performance indicators, including the completion of appropriate checks, controls and compliance auditing. Facilitate and supervise the delivery of a personnel administration service, including data input to ensure Service personnel are paid accurately and promptly, their personal records are maintained and career management is appropriately supported. Act as Line Manager and 1st Reporting Officer, developing the performance of the delivery teams. Contribute to Incident management and Business Continuity Undertake any other tasks as determined by the Interserve Line Manager, including support/cover for other staff and occasional support for public events within the SE area. Ensure delivery of an excellent customer service and that all work is carried out efficiently, accurately and within given timescales. Ensure all activities carried out are in full compliance with current Health and Safety Regulations and the General Data Protection Regulations. Knowledge skills & experience Administration and supervisory experience with strong organisational and motivational skills and a high degree of integrity. Proven track record of delivering quality service with customer facing experience. Persuasive and credible verbal and written communicator with the ability to develop close working relationships. Good all round standard of education, especially literacy and numeracy (5 GCSE or equivalent Grade C, including English and Maths). IT literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office applications. Conversant/knowledge of MOD and UPO applications and systems (JPA, Defence Travel etc.) (desirable). Proactive approach and the ability to embrace and lead on change. Ability to manage short-notice changes to requirements and deadline. Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and practice. Additional Information: Security Clearance and DBS will be required (Right to work in the UK). The Contract operates a 37.5 hour working week between the hours of 0730 and 1700 Mon to Fri only. Required to wear approved company work wear. Person Precise and well-organised with good attention to detail. Confident and credible communicator readily able and willing to contribute at any level.
