If so, please read on as you could be the person we are looking for. This Residential Home are looking for a Wellness Coordinator to join the team to help raise the profile of leisure and wellbeing. This is an exciting, interesting and varied role and is much more than arranging activities for our residents. Danecroft is rated CQC Outstanding in 4 out of 5 categories as is Elcombe House so as an organisation we are the only care provider in Bedfordshire to have more than one home rated Outstanding by CQC and in 4 out of 5 categories, which they are extremely proud of achieving. You will have a good understanding of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing, working closely with the external Wellbeing Consultant to develop an organisational wellbeing strategy for residents, relatives and staff, creating, maintaining and promoting wellbeing for everyone entering the building and implementing the 5 Ways to Wellbeing. The role will involve coordinating a calendar of activities and events, both indoor and outdoor 7 days a week that are both enjoyable and meaningful to residents. This will include ensuring activities are suited to the resident’s lifestyle on an individual and group level. You will be organised with administrative ability and computer literate, ensuring accurate records are kept and updated regarding resident’s activities, there impact on their lifestyle and wellbeing. Plans will be reviewed regularly with the flexibility to adjust if necessary. You will be a natural relationship builder, building relationships with residents, relatives, staff and community groups and schools. You will spend time getting to know the residents and their families to help you tailor activities and leisure pursuits for each resident to improve their holistic wellbeing, delivering a person-centred care. The right candidate will ideally come from a care background and must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing and able to communicate ideas to implement these. You will also possess good administration skills, record keeping and be a perceptive individual, adapting to the changing needs of the home, residents and staff. The role is permanent, 30 hours per week over 5 days.
