Portfolio Planning Lead Portfolio Planning / PMO / Project Planning / Project Management / Birmingham City Centre / Permanent My client, a market leading organisation based in Central and Birmingham is looking for a passionate Portfolio Planning Lead to join their growing PMO team. The Portfolio Planning Lead will review, coordinate and summarise the activities of cost control, planning and scheduling, document control and estimating for assigned projects. Key Responsibilities include; Creation of multi-disciplined programmes, ensuring that projects are appropriately resourced, that progress updates highlight key milestones and critical path issues. Performing earned value analysis to support project managers utilise key performance indicators. Produce and maintain the Portfolio Execution/Delivery Plan. Support the production of project cost and progress reports for Project and Programme Manager. Work closely with the functional leads relevant to the projects to ensure that resource needs are identified and managed. Supervise the development and maintenance of forecasts for time and related costs. Identify, analyse and escalate potential project problems, particularly related to sources. Work with key stakeholders to reassess, renegotiate and amend where necessary scope of work responsibilities. Work with BAU planning to ensure that 'New Product' projects are appropriately scheduled within the manufacturing process. Skills and Experience required: Previous experience of working with or within a Project Office, PMO or Portfolio Office or Centre of Excellence. Experience in Project Planning, Scheduling, Controls, or Project Coordination. Demonstrable Project Management experience. The ability to work with multiple, disparate stakeholders and prioritise requests. Experience the creation of business cases and in the continuous assessment of those business cases to ensure that our portfolio is optimised. Analytical thinking, structured problem solving skills, superior communications skills, team building and strong work ethic. The ability to build reports To have the ability, capacity and aptitude to plan, organise and coordinate technical work and to obtain cooperation from others -management by influence. A high level of computer expertise in Word, Excel, Visio, Primavera, MS Project. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established business as they embark on an exciting period of change.
