Overview
A leading renewable energy business are looking to hire an experienced Power Distribution Engineer for their team. The business are involved in some innovative and cutting edge products, and as such require the expertise and skills of an Electrical Engineer with a strong background in both LV/HV systems design. You will undertake a range of power distribution design work, specifically related to Power Distribution products, working closely with the wider business, overseeing site surveys and their associated installations; as well as looking at various methods for new product design, development and validation. Responsibilities include: Provide technical support on Power Distribution applications, specifically relating to site installations. Develop specifications for Power Distribution, Switchgear, and Integration of Medium Voltage products. Understand connection requirements for Low Voltage network generation. Understand & modify single line diagram schematics in CAD. Design, build and test models & prototypes of new products throughout the R&D phase. Draft product documentation for technical reports. Work with suppliers during design phase Manage component selection activities. Provide technical expertise & support on site surveys, installation (Site Acceptance Testing), maintenance and upgrades of units. In order for your application to be successful, you'll need the following skills and experience: Proven background working on Low/High Voltage systems Knowledge of substation layouts, switchgear, protection devices and associated busbars Experience of Powerflow analysis Ability to model electrical power systems Experience in Design For Manufacture (DFM) Experience working on Switchgear and Control Panels Proven Electrical Design skills (preferably from a Power Distribution background) Qualification or degree in either Electrical, Power or Renewable Energy related subjects Able to design, test, validate and commission Medium Voltage electrical systems A very competitive salary and benefits package is on offer, alongside the chance to work for an innovative, state-of-the-art engineering business, where you'll be able to grow and develop your career long term and work on some cutting-edge products.
