Overview
We are currently working with a well-established public sector organisation based in the Birmingham area who urgently needing the interim support of an experienced PUBLIC HEALTH PROTECTION ADVISOR to assist and advise the organisation during the COVID – 19 crisis. Summary : The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice to the organisation and stakeholders on matters including: outbreak management, infection prevention and control, emergency planning, and responding to emerging and re-emerging threats. Key skills The ability to grasp concepts and translate them into simple and clear messages The post holder will require excellent analytical skills and the ability to identify risks, anticipate issues and create solutions Ability to investigate and manage/support a full range of incidents including outbreaks of disease Leadership and people management Ability to work with local communities, the private sector and other officers at the highest level Ability to communicate positively and persuasively to gain support on key issues Experience: Experience of dealing with external stakeholders including NHS, and voluntary sector At least two years’ experience working in health protection Education to Masters in Public Health level, or equivalent demonstrable experience Individuals with a background in nursing or those having worked in the NHS, Public Health England or a local authority public health team might be suitable for this role Experience of outbreak investigations is crucial Drivers Licence may be required and travel across the Sandwell area pending government guidelines on remote working Rate of Pay : This will be negotiable Hours : 37 hours per week Location: Birmingham area Start Date: ASAP Contract type : 3 – 6 months Interviews: Interviews will be held via a Skype conversation For more information on this or other Local Gov Jobs, please in the first instance email your CV to Bella Thornton, Natalie Cox or Hannah Fritz-Lewis on the Midlands Local Gov Team at or call Venn Group is an equal opportunities employment business and employment agency and welcomes applications from all candidates.
