Warehouse Manager (FMCG) With a rich history dating back to 1938, South Caernarfon Creameries is one of Wales’ main cheese production and cheese packaging companies, supplying to well-known supermarket brands such as Sainsburys, Lidl and Aldi. With a workforce of 160 employees and a turnover level of £60 million, we are developing at significant pace. An ambitious 5-year growth plan is underway, which will see production levels increasing, employee numbers growing, and the ability to deliver services to a wider customer base. Heavy investment has been high on the agenda in recent years, with significant investment focused on a brand-new production plant and high-tech machinery. Imagine what you could achieve in a business like ours. What will the role of Warehouse Manager (FMCG) entail? Reporting to the Head of Site Operations, as the Warehouse Manager you will be based within our Bulk Cheese Stores Department and be responsible for the stock control of bulk cheese and all warehousing activities, from cheese intake through to finished order picking and goods despatch. Your duties will include, although not be limited to: Ensuring all customers receive product on time to the agreed specification Implementing accurate stocktaking recording methods and systems and issuing relevant daily and monthly reports Planning cheese intake schedules and associated procedures Controlling the direct costs and budgeting requirements related to the department Managing employees within the warehousing function to support employee development and department performance, controlling working schedules and annual leave requests Assisting the Supply Chain Manager with daily / weekly internal and external haulage product delivery planning as required Ensuring high housekeeping and quality standards are met within the department at all times What will I need to be considered for this Warehouse Manager (FMCG) vacancy? Proven experience of managing employees in a warehousing and / or distribution environment, ideally gained within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry Basic Food Hygiene certification and hold (or working towards) Intermediate level Basic Health and Safety certification and ideally working towards an IOSH qualification Good knowledge of customer standards Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and effectively within a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills, and the ability to communicate at all levels Excellent organisation, time management and problem solving skills Strong IT skills Ability to challenge and drive business improvements Although not essential, Leadership in Management (ILM) Level 3 qualification would be highly advantageous for this role. What will I receive in return? As a Warehouse Manager, you’ll receive an attractive salary, level dependent on experience, and additional benefits including an enhanced company pension contribution at 5%, life assurance, and an annual leave entitlement of 25 days plus bank holidays. Contract: Permanent, with full time hours working 39 hours per week.
