Chef Supervisor

Tired of split shifts, working nights and every weekend? This Chef position could be what you are looking for. We are working alongside our client, a secure unit, in the search for a Chef. The role is in the main kitchen working in a team of up to 20 at a time. Working an average of 39 hours per week on a rolling rota, working every other weekend There are no late shifts, so the latest finish is 6 pm. Shifts vary slightly but usually start at 06.00 or 07.30am. This role is available on an ongoing temporary basis. The site is accessible on public transport, however own transport is desired. Main responsibilities of the position are: Catering in part of a team for up to 500 people Ensuring health and safety regulations are adhered to Assisting with clear down and clean up after service Monitoring equipment checks Supervising a small team In return, you can expect a basic pay rate of £11.25ph Monday to Friday, £12.50ph Saturdays and £15ph Sundays. You'll also accrue holiday pay on top of these rates, be paid weekly and have the option of joining a company pension scheme. This role would suit a candidate that is capable of dealing with a busy kitchen and a large team, while multi-tasking and working well under pressure. Communication is important in this role, so the ability to liaise with individuals quickly, in a polite manner and also deal with complaints and questions efficiently is desirable. The cooking skill set required is at a Chef De Partie level. However there is a supervisory element to the role, so this could suit a Sous or Head Chef or even a Catering Manager with some cooking knowledge and experience. You must posses an equivalent NVQ level 1 and 2 in professional cookery and hold a current food safety certificate. A DBS is essential for this role. This can be processed by us if neccesary.
