Soho Flordis UK Limited (part of the SFI Group since 2015) has an immediate requirement for a Production Manager to join their team based in Wigan, Greater Manchester. Production Manager - Your new role: As Production Manager , you will be responsible for providing effective daily management of the Manufacturing and Packing teams by efficiently organising work and the staff with the support of the Team and Cell Leaders in a cost effective manner. You will identify opportunities and project manage improvement implementation as well as assist in effectively delivering GMP practices and safe systems of work. You will provide technical support in order to improve performance and process capability. The successful candidate will possess technical report writing, investigation and problem solving skills and will apply an analytical approach. In addition, a detailed understanding of Health and Safety requirements within the workplace is a key requirement. You must be a demonstrated self-starter who is comfortable working either individually or as part of a cross-functional team dealing with colleagues at all levels in the business and with multiple internal and external stakeholders. You will be highly organised, having the ability to manage multiple projects with excellent attention to detail and equally can proactively identify areas of continuous improvement within your area of responsibility. A clear and concise communicator who is open and honest whilst exercising diplomacy and sensitivity are relevant attributes. We are looking for an innovative and creative thinker who proactively seeks solutions amongst uncertainty or ambiguity, being prepared to alter the course as dictated by the business and customer needs, whilst maintaining an action-oriented mindset and a positive “can-do” outlook. A passion for natural healthcare is desirable. Production Manager - Key Responsibilities: - Leading the team in performing all tasks consistent with safe systems of work and high standards ensuring high levels of productivity and reliability - Planning, co-ordinating and allocating resources to support the execution of the site’s overall daily production plan and associated KPI measures identified on the plant scorecard - Managing and implementing improvements in relation to processes and equipment and ensuring availability of the production lines through maintenance and repair. - Implementing on-going improvements of lean manufacturing techniques - Ensuring effective leadership of the team including recruitment, regular performance reviews and management of employee relations matters - Providing regular coaching and development of the team to enable them to set priorities and determine key objectives - Facilitating key operational meetings on a regular basis - Collaborating with Team / Cell Leaders, Operatives, Engineers, Quality Assurance and Quality Control colleagues to identify process and product capability issues and lead activity to identify and implement optimal solutions - Raising and investigating Deviations, performing Root Cause Analysis, writing of the appropriate reports and closing out of related CAPA’s - Supporting work to introduce new processes, equipment and products, including writing Technical Protocols, Reports and supporting of validation - Identifying and reducing wasteful activities (the 8 wastes) and implementing efficiency improvements - Writing, reviewing and updating of Production and Packing documentation including SOPs and Batch Records. What do you need? In addition to the skills and attributes already outlined, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical manufacturing or other regulated industry and will be qualified in a Science-based Degree or equivalent experience. A Lean Green Belt Certification or equivalent experience of lean management methods is highly advantageous.
