Overview

Buyer Location: Braintree, Essex Salary: Competitive Job Type: Permanent This is a pivotal role with responsibility for assisting the Delivery Director and accurate record keeping within the buying team. Assisting in purchasing activities within the Operations team this position is to ensure that all materials and equipment are on site in a timely and efficient manner. Working closely with the planning department, Delivery managers, Project managers and the Warehouse function. Your communication skills and ability to prioritise and deliver is crucial. Key Responsibilities: Liaising with suppliers, planning teams, operations managers and site teams, ensuring information is accurately communicated in a timely and efficient manner. Negotiating with suppliers to ensure best pricing. Ensuring all materials and equipment are delivered to sites within the required time frame. Working closely with the planning team to procure correct materials required. Using a range of office software, including email, spread sheets and databases Accurately upload and update accurate data and information on in house databases. Raising Purchase orders, cross checking of invoices and querying differences. Continuous Improvement and implementation of project work to enhance a consistently evolving department. Completing and running month end reports Ensuring that stock levels are kept correct in the warehouse What you need to be Successful Experience within a similar position ideally within the utilities or construction industry Strong administrational and organisational skills Proven experience of offering a high level of customer service Experience of working to deadlines and tight time frames Pro-active and hands on approach, can do attitude. Ability to work within in a team, and equally on own initiative. Ability to work under pressure Aptitude for maths and analytical skills Knowledge within an office environment and procurement would be desirable.
