Support Worker Service/Location: Aspens - Edenbridge, Kent TN8 5NW Do you want to join a well-established happy staff team that genuinely cares about the people we support? If yes this may be the perfect role for you so please read on: Here at Falconers Court we support 7 individuals who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities and epilepsy aged between 34-55 years. There are some challenging behaviours (mainly verbal) but this is well controlled by working within a positive behaviours framework. We have a relaxed friendly home with a well-established staff team that enjoys taking the service users to a variety of activities including; day services, cinema, bowling, theatre, pubs and much more. You would be expected to work as a team member and support with cooking, domestic tasks, personal care, completing care paperwork and anything else that enhances the lives of those you support. We are a fun supportive team that work together to give the very best to the people we support. Support worker hours - 37 hours per week including some weekends. Early shifts 07:30 - 15:00 Late shifts 14:30 - 22:00 About us At Aspens, we have over 100 years of experience in supporting people with learning disabilities and on the autism spectrum as well as children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities or complex needs. Support Worker Requirements An Individual with a level 2 Diploma/NVQ in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards the qualification Flexibility to work shifts including some weekends and sleep in duties and willing to support on service user holidays Support worker / Carer Experience Car Driver and happy to take residents out in company vehicle Able to handle wheelchairs Positive 'can-do' Attitude Friendly, Positive, Calm and Helpful Good problem solving skills Good Sense of Humour Team worker Flexible and Trustworthy Patient and Caring Attitude Good at listening Willing to learn The ideal support worker should be able to work as part of a team, be confident, caring, able to assist with recording finances, medication & writing and recording daily information.
