Are you ready for the next stage of your career? Could you lead a team whilst supporting people with learning disabilities? As a Senior, you will combine supervising Support Workers with providing direct support to eight adults with learning disabilities, aged between 21 and 55. The people we support enjoy getting out and about into the local community to visit shops and restaurants, the cinema and the leisure centre. At home, they spend time gardening, cooking and baking, arts and crafts and having fun theme nights. Music, singing and dancing are other favourites, so you may find yourself having an energetic bop around the living room or showing off your karaoke skills! You'll develop rotas, supervise staff, become involved in the recruitment, selection and induction of new staff, and generally ensure a high standard of practice in the service. You will work closely with the staff team, leading by example to ensure the people we support are living a life that makes sense to them. You'll encourage your team and identify training needs, whether that's formally or by way of day-to-day coaching and reflection. This role is 37.5 hours a week, and you'll take your turn working shifts on a 24x7 rota. Shift times include 08:00 - 16:00, 11:00 to 19:00 and 13:00 - 21:00, plus sleep-ins. What we need from you You must have experience supporting vulnerable people, ideally those with a learning disability. Perhaps you have been a support worker or care worker and are now looking to step up to a more senior role. You will need to be flexible and organised, with a positive approach You must be a driver with a manual licence, as you will be driving service vehicles, together with your own transport.
