Overview
Senior Data Engineer Data Engineering, Opensource, Database, data warehouse, SQL, Python, Big Data, Spark, Kafka, Cloud, Infrastructure, Devops, Postgres, ETL My client, a large IT focused Financial Services company in London, are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to take ownership of their tech stack. They require someone with a solid database/datawarehousing background who is able to transform a legacy tech stack into a more emerging opensource technology offering. They key technologies used initially would be Python and Postgres, with a view to implement additional opensource tech going forward. They currently have access to Big Data and Cloud technology and need someone to help drive this forward. Key skills/experience required: Significant engineering experience working with open source database, solving challenging business problems with cutting edge technology. Significant python coding experience Proficiency with SQL Experience working on petabyte scale data warehouses and distributed database systems Postgres experience Big data experience including Spark and Kafka would be beneficial ETL pipeline experience would be beneficial An all rounder with database, infrastructure, programming and applications experience Someone who has worked in a start up type environment could be a great fit as this area of the organisation has a tech startup feel to it Good educational background in a data focused subject would be beneficial Please send an up to date CV for further information - McGregor Boyall is an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on any grounds.
