Overview

My client is looking for a Process Operator (Mechanical) to work within their Project Development team. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you’ll be based at a purpose-built production and R&D facility within the Wilton International site and will be responsible for the day to day operation of a continuous production facility. Key responsibilities • Control a variety of equipment and machinery during normal operation, scheduled maintenance and emergency repair procedures. • Monitor meters, gauges and control boards to verify operational parameters, and make adjustments to according to standard protocols and power grid requirements. • Utilise a variety of analogue and digital displays to understand operational performance variables, and record information accurately into logs and databases. • Oversee machinery indicators to determine the existence of malfunctions or suboptimal performance, and initiate appropriate repair procedures when necessary. • Participate in all aspects of production, including operating and maintenance planning, quality conformance and housekeeping. • Attend and contribute to weekly Safety Briefs and ensure individual and team HSE standards are adhered to. • Assist in the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for newly installed fixed plant. • Run tests on mechanical components to ensure a safe and effective installation. • Review maintenance work orders and ensure all requirements/preparations are fully undertaken before commencing work. • Install, repair, and maintain mechanical systems while observing all statutory and legal requirements. • Run tests on mechanical components to ensure a safe and effective installation. • Inspect mechanical systems and equipment for any damage, malfunctions and safety hazards. • Train and mentor apprentices and/or co-workers. • Ensure all accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformances are reported in line with Company policies and procedures. Skills and experience • Significant experience working as an operator in an industrial processing facility. • Evidence of a heavy industrial background, possessing strong mechanical fitting experience including working on bearings, couplings and conveyors. • Experience on HPGRs and granulation equipment would be an advantage. • Experience with HSE in an operational setting with formal training an advantage. • Experience in fault finding and plant/equipment servicing. • Effective communication skills. • A strong team player with the willingness to learn. • A self-starter capable of independent working with minimum supervision. • A can do, hands on approach, able to work well under pressure and prioritise workload to meet operational needs.
