Overview
Automation Engineer required for a software company in the City Centre of Glasgow. The company is a well-established software house, who are leaders in their area. They are currently looking to add a hands-on Automation Tester to support them across a brand-new project (development hasn't even begun). It's an opportunity to get involved in some truly greenfield work, owning the testing and really being able to exert your influence in terms of how the testing develops and is implemented. Company culture is very driven yet relaxed. The company are committed to developing their employee's skillset and working within this company would increase any Test Engineer's technical skillset tenfold, so this is a rare chance to gain exposure to many different tools and technologies. Day-to-day you will be owning the testing from the ground up including creating automation test frameworks from scratch as needed, as well as identifying where automation testing is appropriate and when it isn't. Although this role is focused across automation testing, there will still be an element of manual testing involved too. There are other Automation Engineers across the company, and you won't be thrown in the deep end (you'll definitely have the support you need) but at the same time you'll need to be confident in being the only Tester across this project, and be secure in the decisions you make to drive the testing - ultimately you have the autonomy to choose the way forward You'll have most of the following skills and experience: Strong automation testing experience - ideally across a variety of languages (C# is preferable) Creating automation test frameworks from scratch Strong API testing experience - using tools like SoapUI or Postman Experience with AWS or Azure Ideally some non-functional testing experience Understanding of object orientated design principals Salary is dependent on experience, but the company is able to offer a generous salary for the right individual.
