Overview
The specialist Financial Institutions Practice of this prestigious global broker has crafted a fine reputation for the technical ability of its staff and their level of understanding of the challenges the sector faces. When coupled with this broker’s much stated independence and entrepreneurial approach, it allows the team to deliver innovative solutions that help Financial Institutions stay ahead of changing regulation across multiple markets, protecting their balance sheets, board members and shareholders. Whilst this broker transacts wholesale and facultative reinsurance on behalf of Financial Institutions across the globe, this role sits within the Retail Team. Here, you will be working with Asset Management Clients and other retail Financial Institutions varying in size and complexity, including some blue-chip names. You will be providing your clients with a range of specialist products and services including, but by no means limited to, Directors’ and Officers’, Professional Liability / Indemnity, Financial Institutions Crime, Pension Trustee Liability and Financial Specie products. The focus here is very much on the management of a large portfolio of specialist Financial Institutions business, although you will be encouraged to identify opportunities and cross-sell ancillary covers / services as appropriate, and you’ll also be welcome to try and bring additional new clients to the practice. You will be responsible for leading the relationship with clients, including using your gravitas and profile in the market in order to negotiate the most comprehensive cover at competitive premiums with specialist Underwriters. You will also ensure that you keep your market knowledge up to date, keeping abreast of the latest trends and developments in order to instil confidence with your clientele. It is essential that you have relevant experience; ideally this will have been gained within a competing Financial Institutions Practice, although we do welcome applications from outstanding Account Executives who work in a more generalist environment but have managed a number of related clients, such as Banks or Asset Management companies. Given the nature of the clients, you will be highly articulate, polished and a confident communicator, who is able to secure 'buy in’ with large and very professional organisations. You must also have a 'global view’ of the market and be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the nuances of the sector. Significant progress made towards the ACII qualification would certainly add weight to your application. Whilst this role is anticipated to pay between £50K-£60K, the salary on offer is completely negotiable for outstanding candidates with extensive relevant experience.
