Overview

Role: Care Assistant Location: Milton Keynes Salary: £9.00 to £9.50 per hour Our client, a healthcare provider based in Milton Keynes, require a Care Assistant to join their existing team. A full UK drivers licence is required for the role. Key Responsibilities: To support residents in all aspects of their personal care, including washing, bathing, and toileting, shaving and dressing. Also provide help and support in assisting residents to get out of bed and retire to bed. To assist and support residents to eat their meals, helping to serve and prepare drinks and light snacks at resident's requests. To assist residents in maintaining their laundry requirements. Changing sheets, making beds, sorting soiled linen, washing/tumble drying, (ensuring at all times that this is done so in accordance with the washing instructions attached to the items) and ironing as required. To make an inventory of individual items of clothing for each resident as appropriate. To complete and maintain residents Care plans and other documentation as appropriate. To assist with the personal washing and preparation of deceased residents and ensure that the residents personal belongings is sorted and disposed of with respect and in accordance with each individual’s or family wishes. To support and escort residents to attend community health appointments, i.e. dentist, hospital etc., if required. To encourage residents to remain motivated, stimulated and active by talking and listening to them, writing letters on their behalf and encouraging them to participate in various activities. To maintain and respect at all times the confidentiality of resident's information and to communicate any related queries to the Manager / Team Leader. To provide additional support and undertake certain tasks connected with the residents, on the basis of 'as required e.g. disinfect recently soiled furniture, clean commodes etc. To respond to emergencies as they arise, informing / involving the Manager / Team Leader as appropriate. To maintain at all times the Health and Safety of residents, visitors and colleagues in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. To ensure you are aware and understand all statutory and home policies and procedures and adhere to them at all times. To undertake and participate in any development training or staff meetings as required by the Manager or legal legislation e.g. The Care Standards Act 2000, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 etc. To assist with any other related duties as required by the Company.
