Claims Handlers - Leeds Location: Leeds Contract Type: Permanent - full time Claims Handlers - Leeds We are currently looking to recruit Claims Handlers into our Claims Team within our Leeds office. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team. You will take ownership of claims from cradle to grave and be responsible for the investigation, negotiation and / or conduct of defence of allocated Insurance claims. Claims is an international organisation providing commercial lines claims management services. We specialise in the proactive resolution of defendant insurance claims, and we currently seek a Claims Handler to provide a professional, efficient and proactive claims handling role to our Clients, whilst reflecting our brand values. Main function of job To have responsibility for and progress a caseload or project to an effective and satisfactory conclusion for clients, ensuring high levels of service delivery, both internally and externally, whilst maintaining management information under the terms of the client service level agreement. Main Duties To proactively manage and progress own workload in line with service level agreements, best practice and internal policies and processes; Follow at all times any applicable client claims reserving philosophy and claims standards, including adherence to contractual service standards; To work flexibly in adjusting to changes in priority of workload; Awareness of relevant client strategies and ensure implementation on cases / projects; Achievement of individual KPI's and contribution to team performance at a high level, including financial and non-financial measures where applicable; To research solutions to problems/issues on cases / projects to develop your own technical knowledge; To deliver revenue for the team through existing business activity and developing own professional network; Generate ideas for implementation which develop new ways of working and challenge the status quo; To be proactive in problem solving on cases through identifying potential issues and solutions, always adding value to the case / project; Full engagement in the Firm's Performance Review cycle; To support the training and development of more junior team members being a 'go to' subject matter expert; To demonstrate the Firm's Winning Behaviours, delivering a commitment to the firms values and CSR agenda. Skills and Abilities Essential Experience of/ within the specific Personal Injury and EL/PL legal field/ technical skills set required to undertake the role. A proven track record of success both in terms of financial results and client service. Computer literate including proficient use of Microsoft Office. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple tasks. Excellent attention to detail to be able to carefully analyse information. Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines. Excellent teamwork skills. Flexibility and adaptability in your attitude and approach to work. Business acumen and an understanding of the clients' needs. Ability to build effective professional relationships both with external clients and internal colleagues. High level of financial and commercial awareness.
