Overview

Supply Chain Team Lead A Supply Chain Team Lead is required for our Defence client based in Southampton You will control the supply of manufactured and purchased items in a timeframe that supports the Master Production Schedule (MPS) ensuring that all material in supply chain is at an appropriate build standard. Maintain material status within SAP expediting internal make and external supply items to ensure compliance to plan. Develop and lead the team of buyers. Key Responsibility Areas Proactively interface with Manufacturing to facilitate progress to completion of Work In Progress or delivery of materials in accordance with required schedule 3 month execution window Escalate supplier performance impacting the plan to Procurement or if stable M&SC managed parts resolve directly Management of RTV material logistics from shop-floor back to supplier & back, ensuring that Quality issues are reviewed and trends identified to the Integrated Project Team (IPT). Actively involved in the daily IPT meetings ensuring that all material issues are managed between inter-site, procurement and Team Leaders. Advise relevant internal stakeholders when material delays are likely to impact achievement of on time delivery, proposing re-prioritisation and additional scenarios Manage the expediting activity within your team, working with the PET tool managing push-pull messages to align with MPS changes, ensuring no overdue material or overdue release of requisitions (REQ's) Ensure inventory levels are optimised in accordance with lean manufacturing principles Effective Communication to the Division of system improvements or changes impacting your processes. Identify continuous improvement opportunity's (VMI/Stable parts/Plant Stock etc.) Set & lead load board reviews as active member of IPT. Manage a small team of Buyers Using KPI's demonstrate performance and risk areas, ensure system data integrity Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required Personal Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills High level of drive and commitment Performance management Experience of implementation of KPI's Ability to plan own work and that of others Experience of implementation of change management Stakeholder management and influencing skills Ability to coach & mentor Team Leadership Technical Skills: A good, overall, understanding of SAP, as well as good process awareness. Good understanding of Business requirements & M&SC SCOR processes. Understanding of the Performance Management & SHE Processes & procedures Good all-round computer literacy, including all Microsoft Office applications.
