Overview

Are you an experienced Independent Reviewing officer within Children's Social Services, passionate about ensuring the families you work with work with the right social worker for them and receive the help they need? If so, Cumbria County Council are looking for an IRO to be based in Carlisle, Barrow In Furness, Kendal or Workington areas of Cumbria. The location is flexible and Cumbria offer an excellent salary of £38.00 per hour. As an IRO, you will be responsible for reviewing cases across cumbria. This is a full time role which is 37 hours per week. The majority of staff work 5 days per week however, we always have the option of condensing your hours and working 4 days per week and the flexibility to work from home is available if worked around the needs of the team. To provide specialist consultation and quality assurance. To be responsible for the decision making at conferences and reviews ensuring that there is a framework for reviewing compliance with the plans made To challenge service decisions where necessary to fulfil an agreed care plan and to use statutory powers to escalate to senior management and external bodies where appropriate.
