Overview
IT Security Officer Birmingham £40,000 - £55,000 I am currently recruiting for an IT Security Officer for a successful organisation based in Birmingham. The IT Security Officer will be responsible for protecting the business by employing a range of technologies and processes to prevent, detect and manage cyber threats and take responsibility for leading cyber security strategy and ensuring its effective implementation. The IT Security Officer will evaluate emerging cyber security threats and ways to mitigate them, keep up to date with the latest security and technology developments and manage the cyber security incident process and ensure appropriate monitoring is in place for attacks, intrusions and unauthorised activity, evaluating the existing security products and recommend appropriate solutions. You will design and implement new or upgraded security systems to improve cyber security and be responsible for ongoing management of penetration testing regime including ensuring at penetration testing issues are resolved in a timely manner. The IT Security Officer will undertake regular internal phishing tests to identify those who need additional support and educate employees around cyber security. You will investigate security alerts and provide incident response support, monitor access management, including monitoring for abuse of permissions and implement a Data Loss Prevention policy and ensure that current (and future) systems can provide the appropriate level of DLP protection. You will manage third party suppliers and liaise with stakeholders to provide recommendations. The IT Security Officer will have strong experience with Cyber Security with Security qualifications. Desirable experience include Virtualisation, Cloud Infrastructure, Azure and monitoring systems for Infrastructure and Networking. Desirable qualifications include Networking, Cloud computing, ITIL and Microsoft qualifications.
