Role: Support Workers Needed (Senior/ Qualified/ Unqualified) Location: Bristol Salary: £9.60 to £10.75 per hour D.O.E - See below Unqualified - £9.60 per hour Qualified (NVQ Ect.) - £10.15 per hour Senior - £10.75 per hour Our client, a well established retirement village based in Bristol, is currently recruiting for Support Workers to join their existing team. Successful applicants will have the right qualifications/ experience within the care sector for the role. Key Responsibilities: To ensure that a safe, caring and homely environment for Residents is maintained which will allow and encourage them to develop to their full potential. To promote high standards of therapeutic care by an ongoing review of therapeutic practices and procedures. To treat Residents with courtesy and dignity at all times. To report to the General Manager, Deputy Manager, Nurse on shift or Clinical Lead (as applicable) on your observations on Residents mental, physical, spiritual and social well being. To provide a key working role and to arrange and hold supportive therapeutic sessions with allocated residents. To be responsible for the assessment, planning and implementation of individual care plans for allocated residents. To continually evaluate the care plans and modify when needed to ensure rehabilitation. To be aware of contents of other Resident’s care plans and support the implementation of those plans. To assist in the administration of medications in accordance with legal requirements and the policies and procedures of Care. To assist Residents, as required, with their personal hygiene and care such as dental hygiene, bathing or washing and dressing, dealing with incontinence if appropriate. To ensure that Resident’s are awakened and prepared to attend their day time activities i.e. day centres, appointments, training etc. To assist Residents with their laundry and general tidying of their rooms. To assist and encourage Residents in keeping their clothes and personal belongings in a reasonably tidy and clean manner. To ensure that handovers are accurately received and given, ensuring that all necessary documentation is written before the end of the shift such as the message book and the Residents daily notes and all such documents are read at the commencement of shift. To ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times. To ensure that all work related problems / issues, whether personal or Resident orientated, are discussed with the home manager. To liaise with other professionals as and when necessary regarding Residents. To supervise and assist Residents at mealtimes. Full list of duties may not be applicable to role as these range from Senior to Unqualified.
