Overview

Project Manager A Project Management professional is required for our Defence client based in Luton Overview of the Project Manager role Job Description This person will be required to work collaboratively across UK industry to deliver the particular feasibility study with the specific nation supporting the development of the next stage of activity, and then delivering the same. This individual will deliver a project that seeks to assess these industrial and commercial capabilities and determine the relationship we may wish to develop with them in the future. This role will require a level of cognitive agility and collaborative approach as well as highly developed communication style. This person will be a key part of the interaction with the International Tempest collaborations team comprising UK MoD, BAE Systems, MBDA and Rolls Royce. Key Responsibility Areas Support to the International Tempest Programme (an element of the UK's Combat Air Acquisition Programme) Project Manage contracts related to International Tempest/International CAAP to the satisfaction of the Programme, Partners and UK MOD Relationship Management with the other UK defence organisations; BAES, MBDA and RR Support the continuing International relationship development and future business opportunities Perform internal stakeholder management to ensure the successful implementation of International Tempest's strategic aims. Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate exposure and experience in aspects of project planning, scheduling, work package management, sub contract management and cost control - a PM "toolbox" Strong team leadership skills and a high level of personal drive and commitment are also important Proven project management experience including the Business Winning phases will be a distinct advantage, as will the ability to develop and maintain excellent customer/ supplier relations. The successful applicant will have excellent team working and communication skills, having worked with related functions such as Commercial, Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Quality Assurance. Ideally the successful candidate will have a degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent. Good "soft" skills are essential. An ability to operate on a national/transnational level. Good communication & presentation skills are essential. Aptitude and ability to manage a significant number of people or cross-functional teams.
