Overview
The role involves working within the Quality Team to provide guidance with quality activity, primarily to establish and maintain a quality management structure within the Platform organisation whilst effectively influence all stakeholders including senior management Core Duties: Identifying key processes - Customer process relationship (SIPOC) Identify quality gates with measurable outputs Monitor & measure quality performance in line with identified quality gates Lead and support quality investigations through root cause analysis (RCA) Non-conformance (NC) management Coach and mentoring stakeholders in RCA and NC management Support Zero-Defect Culture/Right First Time Support cost of poor-quality activities with realisation of sustainable benefits Support process confirmation schedule and project requirements Encourage quality improvement activity across the IPTs Support internal audit programme Attributes: Essential Previous Quality (and/or Quality Assurance) experience within some capacity is essential Effectively communicate at all levels in the business with the ability to convey information ensuring clarity and understanding with confidence Experience of working within a complex design programme Leadership (Requirements of the position for providing leadership and guidance to others) Problem Solving (Breadth of mental skills required in order to perform the position) Ability to support improvements and culture change within the Platform organisation in terms of behaviours and attitudes Ability to support and identify poor quality outputs Support individuals to improve performance to achieve desired outcomes (through RCA, LFE) Desirable Previous experience of Shipbuilding would be extremely advantageous Awareness of supply chain, project management and engineering relationships desirable Previous stakeholder management with both internal and external customers would be beneficial Strong facilitation skills in order to influence and gain buy in to enable change would again be desirable Demonstrating ability to manage professional relationships ensuring trust and confidence would be a huge benefit Functional Knowledge: Support and provide in depth knowledge and experience of delivering quality improvement Detailed knowledge of quality tools and techniques and their application Internal auditor qualified Strong technical knowledge particularly within the area of quality assurance with programme application Responsibility of ensuring the effectiveness of the IPT Organisation The role supports the quality organisation from Head of SHEQ to Lead Quality Engineer
