Overview
IT Systems Engineer – Thetford, Norfolk - £30-31.5k plus excellent package I4 Recruitment have been selected to engage a talented IT Systems Engineer to work for a world-leading, scientific research organisation. The business publish scientific results and provide impartial scientific advice. They work with partners in the academic, conservation, government, private and voluntary sectors. The role of Systems Engineer involves a range of tasks required to support the smooth and secure running of the information systems, including installation and maintenance of both hardware and software, and providing documentation and support to staff. Working under the supervision of the Senior Systems Manager to operate and maintain the Trust’s computer systems. Skills and experience for this role should include: Windows server experience Networking knowledge knowledge of virtualisation storage systems Desktop PC hardware, operating systems and software. Experience of administration of Microsoft Office and/or Google products would be an advantage. Good understanding of project management methods, particularly with respect to computing infrastructure projects. Understanding of change management and IT best practice
