Overview

Our client is a leading finished vehicle logistics company with locations across the UK who specialise in new and used vehicle preparation, logistics and secure storage to the automotive industry. They are currently seeking a Automotive Technical Supervisor based in Sheerness, Kent. To deliver a first class service to the operational site, ensuring efficient and effective processing of vehicles meeting client expectations in quality and lead times. The role: Responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the daily operational planning of all activities relating to the technical department to ensure all dedicated deadlines are met. Oversee and monitor workshop efficiencies. Optimizing the lead times of vehicles requiring technical processing, reacting promptly to resolve issues. Meet customer requirements in term of quality and lead times, advising promptly of any delays or concerns Ensure most cost-effective repair methods are used at all times. To review and improve processes to develop efficiencies, ensuring any problems are followed through to root cause. Monitor workmanship to maintain and enhance quality results. Monitor supplier’s performance ensuring adherence to agreed targets. Oversee subcontracted functions challenging the site representative to resolve. Ensure compliance with all group operating procedures and standards. To ensure business requirements are continually met maintaining a high level of quality. Monitor work areas to ensure they are organized and orderly with a strong focus on safe operating practices Distribute and communicate information clearly and precisely within daily MTQ meeting. Regularly communicate information to all team members to improve awareness of performance and expectations. Assess and plan training requirements and develop action plans for line reports. Assess and Monitor the performance and achievements of the department, setting KPI’s to measure against targets. All manual and electronic filling are kept up to date and in line with 5’s standards. Ensure working instructions are kept up to date and in correct format. Ad-hoc duties as and when required from time to time by your line manager. Financial performance of activity - to continually monitor and drive improvements. Monitor stock holding and sustain stock levels to at an acceptable level to ensure productivity flow is managed To fully understand and integrate new operating systems Ensure all operating standards and legislations are adhered to and are fully compliant. Manage and maintain all diagnostics equipment with the latest specifications Actively manage the training academy requests and requirements for the staff to ensure 100% compliance. Continual analysis of costs versus sales to ensure profitability is above the budget Health and Safety: You must take responsibility for your own safety Applies and enforces Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental regulations and processes on a day to day basis Make sure where you work is safe and hazard free Report all accidents and near misses to your Line Manager, however insignificant they may seem You have a legal responsibility to work with Management to identify hazards and reduce risk as much as possible in the work place Ensures risk assessments are completed and implements control measures where necessary Update the Green Cross and brief teams on health and safety daily (MTQ) Ensures accident and near miss forms are completed within 24 hours and completes investigations for all lost time incidents Completing 'walk the floor’ inspections and fire safety checks If necessary, instigates disciplinary procedures in relation to breaches of H&S standards
