Overview
Legal Accounts Manager - Brighton - £32,000 - £40,000 I am currently working with am extremely well established and renowned Legal Firm in Brighton. This is a rare opportunity to for a seasoned Accounts Manager with experience the accountancy team in a law firm. My client is a forward thinking firm with an 'open door policy', welcoming all new staff and always taking time to answer questions and train new starters. Duties will include: Responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Firm’s accounts and financial records Supervision of the Accounts team members, completion of all daily tasks within the team Monitoring performance and completing the firm’s appraisal process. Office Account Reconciliation Standing orders & direct debits, Auto postings and Depreciation journals Daily full reconciliation of the firm’s Office Account. Client Account Reconciliation Monitoring and processing of all client account transactions, including : Chaps, Bacs, Faster Payments and standing order receipts. Daily full reconciliation of the firm’s Client Account. Reviewing daily transaction on the office account and loading into the firm’s cash flow report. Checking completion statements and balances for the Conveyancing & Commercial departments. Processing & checking payments on Bankline and providing authorisation cover when required. Reconciling the Legal Service Commission BACS statement & ensuring prompt posting and actioning of all items. Posting of monthly Legal Help bills & office journals. Processing month-end procedure, including completing bank account reconciliations Running Axxia and management report exports, Axxia system reconciliation and full balance reconciliation. Requirements/Skills Literate and numerate Good IT skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) Working knowledge of Tikit P4W. Working knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules. Very strong Administration and organisational skills Previously managed an Accounts team Experience in a Solicitors Accounts Department An understanding of Money Laundering Regulations If you think you'd be a good fit for this exciting opportunity
