With a continued focus on the development of or clients pharmaceutical portfolio an opportunity has arisen for an External Scientific Engagement Leader. In this role the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in channelling the clients scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives. Reporting directly to the Medical & Scientific Affairs Director, UKMC the External Scientific Engagement Leader will deliver a comprehensive external scientific engagement strategy for the UK organisation across Respiratory and Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolic Therapy Areas. The role includes leading and managing the Company engagement with all Key External Experts (clinical and scientific), medical and professional societies, national clinical guideline groups, sponsored research networks, patient advocacy groups, and assume overall accountability for the UKs Grants and Donations distribution & expenditure. This role is based at Head Office which is home to the UK Marketing Company (UKMC), responsible for the marketing of our medicines in the UK. Here youll also find colleagues from the clients corporate functions and European and International regions sales and marketing teams. As a member of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), all of the companys sales, marketing and communications activities are subject to the ABPI Code of Practice. Key Responsibilities: Create, lead and manage the Company UKs external engagement strategy Define a comprehensive engagement strategy across Respiratory and Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism (CVRM) Business Unit. Therapy Areas in the UK, ensuring world-class engagement and systematic tracking of all activities Define the Companys involvement with all major medical and professional societies, research networks, industry consortia and patient advocacy groups, working towards advancing clinical practice in our priority disease areas Represent the Company in strategically-relevant industrial consortia partnerships/collaborations and at corporate Boards of Professional societies and organisations Drive the strategy, scientific agenda and lead the execution of UK-based scientific meetings Enhances the reputation of the organisation, communicates therapeutic area medical strategy Initiates and drives new Academic/Clinical collaborations Leads competitor complaint and complaint response strategies Establish the UK as a leader in innovative clinical research Our client believes in the potential of their people and will develop you beyond what you thought possible. Qualifications Registered Physician (preferably GMC registered) or Pharmacist (General Pharmaceutical Council registered) Understanding of ABPI code of Practice Person/Experience Required Expertise in Respiratory and/or Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolic disease areas (experience in both Respiratory & Cardiovascular therapy areas is highly desired) Strong working relationships with Global leaders in Respiratory/ Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism medicine, including KEEs, professional societies, pharmaceutical companies Demonstrated success in building and executing multi-year strategic roadmaps Experience leading project teams with a track record of delivering results in a complex environment Demonstration of strategic and scientific presentations at therapeutic area meetings to external customers Demonstrated track record in delivering new initiatives, capabilities and leading large scale impactful medical initiatives desired Contact Information Chemistree Solutions Ltd is a healthcare recruitment specialist.
