With a continued focus on the development of or clients pharmaceutical portfolio an opportunity has arisen for a Therapy Area Lead. In this role the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in channelling the clients scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives. This role is based at Head Office which is home to the UK Marketing Company (UKMC), responsible for the marketing of our medicines in the UK. Here youll also find colleagues from the clients corporate functions and European and International regions sales and marketing teams. As a member of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), all of the companys sales, marketing and communications activities are subject to the ABPI Code of Practice. Key Responsibilities: Lead the medical-scientific strategy of the therapeutic area To lead the Medical input to business strategic and operational planning for defined therapy area To lead delivery of clinical insight, customer focus and clinical governance into commercial objectives To deliver Therapy Area/Brand objectives as outlined in Therapy Area/Brand Medical Plans To develop and deliver pre-launch and peri-launch medical plans To develop and lead a Therapy Area aligned Medical Affairs team Act to ensure GCP requirements are fully complied with and in line with the local Quality Management System (QMS) SOP and all other Company policies and Standards To represent UK in the Global Medical affairs teams for defined therapy area Our client believes in the potential of their people and will develop you beyond what you thought possible. Qualifications Registered Physician (preferably GMC) or Pharmacist (General Pharmaceutical Council) Proven expertise in the ABPI Code of Practice Person/Experience Required Essential: Registered Physician (preferably GMC) or Pharmacist (General Pharmaceutical Council) Track record of leadership across the medico-marketing interface Prior experience in a Medical Affairs role - a minimum of 2 years for exceptional candidates is expected Proven expertise in the ABPI Code of Practice Extensive patient and customer insight through experience of working with the NHS Proven ability to interact with external customers Evidence of effective team working and accountability It is mandatory for the performance of this role to hold or successfully acquire Nominated Signatory status. You are required to gain Nominated Signatory status within 6 months of commencing your role.
