Overview
The temporary and contracting division of Macildowie are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join a well known organisation based in Milton Keynes. The position is initially a temporary opportunity but due to increased sales and stronger than expected 2019 forecast, there is opportunity for the position to become permanent. As Accounts Assistant you will receive an hourly rate of up to £13 - £15per hour. The Accounts Assistant will report into the Financial Controller but will have involvement and interaction with other internal stakeholders and business unit owners. The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for: - Processing and completing purchase and sales ledger duties including the raising of sales invoices, allocating payments as well as coding, matching and batching purchase invoices - Working alongside the Financial Controller to complete monthly VAT returns - Assisting with Credit Control when required although very much an ad hoc duty - Assisting with the completion of monthly journal entries - Ad hoc involvement with the prepayments and accruals when the Management Accountant requires assistance - Maintenance of the fixed asset register on  a monthly basis - Completing monthly intercompany accounting duties - Other ad hoc duties when required To be considered for the role of Accounts Assistant you must: - Be working towards a financial qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) - Have experience of working within a similar position with exposure to purchase and sales ledger duties - Have a strong desire to work as part of a successful team - Be a good communicator through both written and verbal methods Salary and Benefits As a temporary Accounts Assistant in Milton Keynes you will receive an hourly rate of up to £15.00 per hour.
