Overview

Develop effective risk and compliance policies that enable the business to meet regulatory obligations. The roleholder will work alongside 1st line business colleagues to enhance risk and compliance processes and will provide appropriate compliance subject matter expertise in terms of defining and advising on the interpretation of regulatory matters. Key Responsibilities: Design, deliver and maintain effective risk and compliance policies, working closely with 1st line colleagues to achieve timely implementation Act as a 1st point of contact in terms of providing a compliance viewpoint on business processes Maintain an appropriate horizon-scanning tool to identify current and future risks and opportunities for the business. Produce regular, insightful reports for Senior Management on current and future regulatory issues that impact the business. Provide the 1st line business with proportionate and risk based compliance subject matter expertise on any regulatory interpretation required Liaise directly with relevant trade bodies to help to ensure that the businesses interests are represented Participate in any local projects/initiatives designed to deliver regulatory change Manage regulatory reporting. Manage regulatory requests for data and/or business specific information meeting all timescales set Provide clear and effective leadership for the Compliance Officer, Policy & Advice Build, develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders Effectively and efficiently complete all duties and responsibilities as assigned and to company standards Skills & Experience: Thorough knowledge of the financial services industry and an understanding of associated Regulatory, Compliance and Risk Management frameworks Good communicator, both written and verbal, with experience of communicating confidently with colleagues at all levels An eye for detail, analytical approach and ability to be objective A desire to learn and take on board feedback, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Display a genuine passion for compliance and a commitment to both personal development and development of the business Ability to deal with conflicting demands ensuring key priorities and deadlines are met through effective time-management Experience in presenting and discussing information in a logical and professional manner, and ability to manage discussions to effectively build consensus and drive forward-looking actions. Good organisation and planning skills. Ability to use Microsoft applications. Professional qualifications - not essential, willing to further professional development e.g. ICA Certificates and Diplomas.
