Overview

Our Client are looking for an experienced and qualified Electrical Engineer with strong knowledge to supervise a team of electricians who are responsible for electrical and maintenance routines as well as identification and repair of faults on electrical building services. You will be an integral part of the Services team. Main Duties Manage a team of Electricians, facilitating appropriate project work as well as repair to systems, plant or equipment to the required standard Support the Hard Services Manager with day to day activities required to deliver work in line with the project plan including safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives Develop effective working relationships with appropriate parties Ability to accurately produce and analyse electrical technical drawings Manage time effectively to ensure tasks are handled accurately and in time ensuring a high standard of delivery to the business and client. Identify, implement and comply with applicable safety, environmental and quality standards, company procedures and policies and other relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, maintaining up to date knowledge Prioritisation of work schedules and projects, delivering on time in full and to budget Identification and reporting of areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical and Environmental) Ensure appropriate risk assessments / method statements are in place and undertaken on all work Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels in a clear and concise manner Interact positively with the client and their representatives, proactively sharing information with others Facilitate and chair project meetings and regular progress meetings as required Prepare and maintain project documentation including Project Definition Document, Quality Plans and other documents as required Produce and review technical specifications Support the process of contractor selection and contract placement Ensure technical queries are managed in accordance with process and procedures Carry out financial and technical appraisals of project options, performing feasibility studies, site surveys and liaison with designers and station staff as required Prepare work packages including preparation of work order cards in accordance with site specific requirements Prepare Engineering Changes and manage the preparation of supporting and affected documents Prepare commissioning documents and act as test team leader where appropriate Required to work as part of a team either leading or assisting in the performance of maintenance activities, installation and repair Experience to confidently diagnose faults, identifying spares and carry out the work efficiently Self-motivated and takes ownership of the work. Due to the complex nature of the site the team work to a strict maintenance instruction whereby a step by step method statement must be followed, failing to do this can cause a serious impact to plant and the safety of others so the post holder must be attentive and compliant at all times Qualification’s Skills and Experience Minimum - City & Guilds / NVQ or HNC / HND Electrical Engineering -18th edition Preferably degree educated in an Electrical Engineering/Technical discipline - chartered or equivalent Project management qualification preferred but not essential Suitable relevant project experience within engineering/construction projects, including the application of project management processes Proven knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including Construction Design Management and Health and Safety at Work Act Budget monitoring, commercial awareness and experience at managing contractors Previous work experience in the nuclear sector / industrial environment advantageous, specifically high voltage plant / equipment Strong understanding of the need for quality within the project environment and familiarity with the use and structure of Quality Assurance documentation Proven ability in the preparation of reports and information using packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint Suitable relevant technical experience including the preparation of technical documentation, the review and approval of technical proposals and procedures, experience of construction, testing and commissioning activities Experience of supervising and setting contractors/sub -contractors to work in their roles and experience in leading a project team We will try to respond to reply to all applications.
