The Role As a Mobile / Plant Fitter, you will provide an efficient, high-quality fleet and plant maintenance service, maximising the availability of products for hire. You will attend call-outs and provide roadside and site-based assistance to resolve any issues, maintaining a focus on health and safety as your top priority. Your role will involve: - Delivering routine and preventative maintenance on fleet and plant - Undertaking fault diagnoses and repairs - Ensuring vehicles are prepared for MOT - Participating in a routine maintenance rota for all plant and vehicles - Ensuring adequate supplies of workshop consumables and materials - Mentoring and guiding Apprentices - Providing workshop administration support - Advising and liaising with Drivers and other staff - Ensuring the workshop area is kept tidy at all times and waste is disposed responsibly About You To be considered as a Mobile / Plant Fitter, you will need: - Experience as a fitter or in a similar role - The ability to carry out computer aided diagnostics - A full, valid driving licence - At a minimum, an NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair Ideally, you will have mobile crane repair experience, but this is not essential. Other organisations may call this role Fitter, Mobile Fitter, Plant Fitter, Maintenance Technician, Technician, Maintenance Engineer, HGV Technician, HGV Engineer, HGV Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Technician, Mechanical Engineer, Plant Technician, Fleet Technician, Plant Engineer, or Fleet Engineer. This is a full-time role, however it is fully flexible and weekend and nights will be required. No agencies please.
