Overview

This is a diverse project management and accounting role for a business in a wind down process, following the divestment of a subsidiary with circa 60 employee’s. This is a diverse project management and hands on accounting role. The successful candidate will directly manage two Financial Controller staff and several projects. Interaction and collaboration with employees at all levels, including senior management will be key. The role sits within a small team in London and the scope includes working in a multi-jurisdictional Group requiring the candidate to deal with diverse challenges daily. The candidate must be hard-working and embrace these challenges as and when they arise, with limited support. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Management of two existing Financial Controllers, one in London and one in Singapore for sale completion requirements ensuring financial reporting integrity is maintained. Preparing monthly reporting into within required deadlines for each entity post Completion. Challenge and drive local financial controllers to complete actions for Completion. Liaising with transferring employees at the Wind Down Group, the PLC department and the acquiring Group as and when required. Responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of the Wind Down Group companies post Completion. Taking control of issues as and when they arise and seeing them through to resolution. Management of external audits and external services providers for a Wind-Down including tax. Processing of closing accounting transactions including bank account postings. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED: Qualified Chartered Accountant; minimum 5-years PQE in a Financial Controller type role Strong technical accounting background Commercial acumen relating to financial analysis Audit Articles, at one of the Big 4 desirable Proficient in Excel Accounting Packages HFM or Hyperion systems experience, desirable Navision or similar accounting software experience, preferential Proactive, hardworking, highly organized and self-motivated Hands on approach Strong attention to detail with ability to see the "big picture" Commercial acumen with willingness to travel if necessary Able to build strong working relationships Staff management experience Previous wind down experience, desirable
