The Opportunity: We are looking for Senior Data Analyst to join our and support our Group Head of Performance in producing complex MI/Data analysis using a plethora of Excel skills to manage performance reviews internationally across QBE. Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to: Assisting the Group Head of performance with developing a clear vision, plan and structure for the team to maximize the benefits of Data Analysis, Cell Reviews and International MI for QBE Internationally. Contribute and support the development of the Team’s direction and strategy, ensuring key issues are considered during planning and mitigated in execution. Positively promote the department, division and company as a whole, in order to maximize brand leverage and develop team profile Participate in internal meetings in order to share and develop knowledge and best practice Contribute to developing awareness of data governance across the business in order to ensure the highest standards of compliance. Determine own work priorities and activities and that of a small team in line with departmental plans to ensure the achievement of personal and team objectives. Manage and respond to data related questions and enquiries from senior stakeholders using available data tools and procedures and ensuring adherence to QBE’s defined processes and best practice guidelines. Responsible for the design, development and implementation of a fit-for-purpose data activities and capability across the organization. Responsible the identification and documentation of reporting and data requirements for work activities, projects etc. and ensure compliance with best practice/internal/regulatory guidelines. Work with Group Head of performance and end users to identify data requirements and support the implementation of any changes e.g. to systems etc., ensuring these are completed effectively and implemented in to a BAU service Ensure that high standards of service are maintained and developed to ensure continuous improvement and effective response to user requests, enquiries and Key stakeholders. Provide advice and guidance for work activities/projects etc.; ensuring users are aware of key issues and able to implement correct procedures and protocols. Strive to verify all information obtained and create firm links to the source in order to accurately assess data governance and identify issues and appropriate action. Produce accurate management information to enable effective decision making and action. Lead the Investigation and resolve data governance related queries/issues ensuring effective resolution in line with Data Policy. Responsible for the development, maintenance and prioritization of Data our MI/Analysis capabilities to meet business and stakeholder requirements. Actively undertake personal development to ensure up to date knowledge and skills. Lead, motivate and manage a small team to ensure developments Promote individual accountability through an ongoing performance management approach that aligns personal performance objectives with strategic goals Assist the Group Head of performance in driving and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, motivation, collaboration, empowerment and buy-in across the business and central functions Where necessary coach members of the team to ensure consistency delivery Support the Group Head of performance in promoting excellence through the attraction, continual development and retention of high-quality workforce with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to deliver excellent outcomes and service You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience: Business analysis and requirements gathering skills Strong communications skills - both verbal and written Highly computer literate and numerate with an advanced ability in the use of spread sheets and relational database concepts Ability to carry out integrity checks at a data level Ability to contribute to the build of a business model diagram to illustrate business use of data Ability to interpret and align multiple stakeholders’ requirements, setting clear expectations to support timely delivery Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels Excellent time-management skills Uses effective approaches to remain aware of external factors that influence data usage within the organization. Leadership skills and ability to develop and foster successful teams. Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels. Experience producing specifications detailing solutions for approval by users and for technical use by developers and testers would be beneficial Experience using structured analytical techniques Experience within a data management environment with a hands on business role Previous experience in insurance, preferably Lloyd’s based Strong experience working with business representatives to identify and document business requirements Solid experience of working with a variety of methods and software tools to analyze and measure data At QBE, we view our people as our most precious asset.
