Overview
Gilbert Meher is proud to be working with a market leading care and education provider in their search for a positive behaviour support lead. The group specialise in a huge range of services nationally, for children and young adult with special needs this includes SEMH, autism and learning disabilities The role of PBS Lead is new to the group and is being put into place To build the capacity of staff to ensure a delivery of research based interventions that result in the reduction of violence and aggression and the use of restraint. Main purposes; Develop and lead a violence and restraint reduction strategy for the group focused on reducing restrictive interventions. Develop, co-produce and implement reducing restrictive practice policies with children, young people, adults and staff. Lead at an operational level a reduction in the use of restrictive practices and implement industry leading violence and aggression reduction strategies across the company. Develop, build and maintain professional relationships with Team Teach and MAPA trainers and contribute to the provision of and quality assurance of direct training to staff in the prevention and management of violence and aggression. Undertake investigations of untoward events involving restrictive practice and ensure learning from events is cascaded and embedded in practice. To support services to work to the required regulatory frameworks. The ideal candidate will have; Third Level qualification/PhD/MSc in a relevant discipline Social care/education regulatory inspection process In depth understanding of relevant laws and regulations. Up to date training/knowledge in a recognised physical intervention methodology e.g. MAPA/Team Teach Minimum of 5 years managerial experience at senior management level in a multi-site, regulated environment Significant experience in directly working with people who display violent and aggressive behaviour Evaluating and developing practise standards and interventions. Proven experience of achieving results through people. The role is national so the candidate can be based anywhere, as the role will be remote with extensive travel.
