JOB DESCRIPTION This requirement is for the role of a “hands-on” Engineer with AW Azure skills to work within our Cloud Practice. It requires Azure engineering skills first but extends into Technical Architecture. Equally important are client facing soft skills and the desire to keep learning. What will you do? This is a hands-on role, the Azure Cloud Engineer will be designing, building & deploying scalable and fault tolerant systems in Azure Cloud for a variety of clients in different industries. This is a professional services role requiring client facing skills. The role requires flexibility, you will mostly work in an Agile manner in small teams but you may also be required to work as part of a larger team taking a more waterfall approach. This is not a developer role but you will need some coding ability and understanding of the development process and tools. You will be required to design, integrate and build with Git, Cloudformation, Terraform and pipeline tools. You will have a reasonable understanding of networking, virtualization and container services as well as the generic Azure services. The work will include PoC, MVP, Application Migration and Transformation and other projects in the Azure space. Suggesting improvements and changes to increase value. • Use your automation, scripting and coding skills to deliver solutions that clearly move the dial forward for the client. • Create, review and provide feedback on high-level and low-level designs. • Deliver the design. • Participate in re-engineering of existing client applications to ensure they leverage additional benefits provided through the Azure Cloud. • Document & capture designs suitable for re-use by others. • Deliver infrastructure as code and follow Azure best practice. • Engineer and develop scripts, code and configurations that meet the requirements of the project scope and design of the Solution Architect. Basic Qualifications • Strong knowledge of Azure and Azure Services. • Proven track record with 2 years of hands-on Azure Engineering • Applied experience with orchestrator and provisioning technologies for IaaS, PaaS and container-based platforms • Implementation and management experience with cloud networking technologies • Azure IaaS and PaaS administration • Expertise and proficiency in security implementation best practices for cloud platforms and MS Azure • Scripting in Powershell and automation using ARM • AZ-103 Azure Administrator Associate or AZ-400 Other Qualifications Sought • Experience in scripting languages – e.g. Python, Power shell, Bash, Node.JS, Cloudformation, Terraform, JSON, YAML, AWS CLI & API. • Systems Administration experience in any Operating Systems (Windows / Linux). • Understanding of common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, DHCP, TCP/IP, Subnetting etc.). • Understanding and employment of Security Best Practices. • Experience with continuous integration, continuous deployment tools. • Experience with configuration management tools. • Technical degree or equivalent education and experience.
