Building Surveyor - Commercial & Education Projects

Your new company Your new company is a multi-disciplinary firm of construction specialists with an outstanding track record in the education sector across Surrey and West London. The company Head Office is based in Surrey, near Woking, and is the hub for all disciplines and projects, ensuring effective communication between professionals within the business, and a positive and bustling working environment. A business with several decades of growth and success, this practice is looking for competent and responsible building surveyors who can provide important support to the company and enable continued business growth. Your new role Your new role will be a professional, client facing role, providing technical services to representatives from local schools and academies, colleges local authorities and C of E Dioceses. You will provide technical services throughout a range of projects, predominantly across the education sector, which will involve major refurbishments, installations and replacements, repairs and extensions, as well as some new build work. You will be responsible for delivering various projects (As above) leading a design throughout the process on projects from £500K to £2m What you'll need to succeed In order to succeed in this role you will need a bachelors degree or equivalent in Building Surveying or a related subject. You will have strong construction design management experience (CDM) and will feel comfortable providing contract administration services via JCT on projects up to £1m. Ideally you will have experience managing specific education projects, however transferable skills and experience of projects up to a minimum of £1m in value will be of interest. Ideally you will have experience working as a building surveyor in a consultancy environment, and will be able to work independently, communicating confidently with consultants, contractors, projects stakeholders and more. What you'll get in return In return for your work, you will receive a competitive annual salary of £40-45K per annum package including pension, car allowance, holiday allowance, discretionary bonus and more. You'll also receive support towards your APC should you wish to pursue this, and you will be allocated an APC mentor as the business has a number of experience chartered surveyors on hand whenever you need.
