Overview
Operating within the highly competitive Technology infrastructure market, this household name is a leading primary contractor to major infrastructure groups in the public & private sectors, specialising in delivering niche ICT communication networks, operational systems, integration services and consultancy to their blue-chip client base. Continuing to experience exponential growth across all sales channels, the business has ambitious expansion plans and is currently seeking a CIPS qualified Senior Procurement Manager/Head of Procurement to underpin a major Project valued c. £90m function for a complex long-term programme. A broad brief includes: •Be at the heart of this programme & business, understand the customer needs & requirements and cascade this down to their subcontractors. •Own & deliver procurement project plans, drive SUBCONTRACTOR supply chain and manage timeframes and relationships to meet programme jobs, projects and workstream contract commitments & objectives •Provision & delivery of leadership & management of the Procurement function •Ensuring procurement activities remain aligned with group & corporate strategies •Capitalising on existing & new supplier relationships to ensure delivery of procurement excellence •Developing innovative commercial solutions to resolve challenging situations •Set up & preparation of monthly management reports & dashboards •Development of detailed category methodology plans & strategies to deliver short, medium- & long-term benefits to the project & wider business •Classifying suppliers on a commercial & risk basis •Ensuring appropriate contractual mechanisms are included in subcontracts •Supporting the Compliance & Standards team in the production & updating of supplier Quality Assurance Requirements As a CIPS qualified individual, you will be an experienced Senior Procurement Manager / Head of Procurement with a track record of negotiating complex Subcontractor supply chain contracts in regulated market sectors, ideally with exposure to the Infrastructure sector. The role demands strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, a proven ability to understand quality, value, risk & governance in the supply chain, and evidence of negotiating contracts with third party organisations. A broad understanding of Infrastructure and related Information technology (IT) including transport telecommunications products, security & power technologies and services is highly advantageous.
