Part Time Paediatric Support Worker required for Oscar 7 who has complex medical needs on alternate Fridays Title: Part Time Paediatric Support Worker | KT12 Walton on Thames Location: KT12, Walton on Thames Nearest Train: Walton on Thames Wage: £15.00 gross per hour weekdays, £17.00 gross per hour weekends. Sleeping night shifts £11.80 per hour during the week and £12.80 per hour at the weekend. Driver required? Essential Use of a car? On duty Essential: Experience supporting children with complex medical needs, non-smoker, DBS Start Date: ASAP Days & Hours: Alternate Fridays 12.00pm - 9 am on Saturday. He loves to play role-play games, Lego and Paw Patrol toys. He adores technology and likes to be active. He is a very caring and determined little boy who is a joy to spend time with. Oscar is mobile but can be unsteady and suffers from fatigue, so will need someone proactive who can learn when to give extra support and when he requires quiet time. Oscar receives all liquids and medication through a PEG as he is at risk of aspirating on all fluids and has a soft, mashable diet. Overview of role: The role includes school pick-ups, play-dates, implementing therapies at home in a fun way and taking Oscar to therapy activities such as swimming and horse riding. Other tasks include assistance with personal care, play, mobility, hydration and medication via a PEG, and completing his therapy programmes. Who this job would suit: We are looking for proactive, professional and enthusiastic candidates with an eye for detail. The support worker(s) will be required to keep full and detailed records of their intervention and to follow guidance in the support plan and risk assessments. We are looking for skilled and experienced people who have excellent communication skills, are confident, energetic and have a positive, caring attitude.
