Overview
Michael Page are retained and actively recruiting for an Enterprise Architect to join an established client in their Manchester Office. Reporting into the IT Director, you will be responsible for continuing to establish and develop the Architecture Office in the IT Team, leading technology innovation, providing policy, guidelines and cost roadmaps to ensure that IT architecture aligns with business needs and strategic direction. The role will require International travel. Description Key Responsibilities: To head, coach and develop the enterprise architecture team to build a business focussed architecture capability and ensure that the organisations technology is kept up to date and modern whilst economically viable. To support development of the IT strategy & roadmap by working closely with the IT Director and IT Leadership team. To proactively and regularly engage with the IT group at the organisations global headquarters, and other regional headquarters to ensure alignment with global business and technology direction. To define technology innovation methodology to drive IT led business innovation by working closely with the business engagement function and key business stakeholders. To define architecture expectations and constraints in the form of standards & controls and the governance processes required to assure compliance to those standards and controls. To lead technology selection by working closely with the business engagement product teams to define and agree the right technology and optimal solutions that effectively meet business needs. To perform quality review of the impact assessment conducted by architects of the major business requirements including market research for new technology products and support business engagement in developing the business case to ensure business-IT alignment. To review IT procurement plans, RFPs to ensure compliance with the architecture standards and plans. Ownership of IT roadmaps, cost forecasts and annual budgeting process. To work proactively with Business Leadership, Business capability owners and other stakeholders in order to understand direction, strategy and support specific initiatives. Profile Essentials We are looking for a leader who can be the face of the Architecture team and build trust and effective rapport with key business stakeholders Established enterprise architecture capability including architecture governance, business & technical architecture In-depth knowledge of IT industry best practices, technologies, architectures and emerging technologies Ability to 'dive in' technology in collaboration with the Business, Business Engagement and vendors Lead and manage innovation teams - prototyping and RFP processes Critical analysis and decision making Strong time management skills and multi-tasking capabilities together with excellent communication and inter-personal skills Excellent verbal and written skills including presentations, chairing meetings, workshop facilitation, business and technical document writing Understanding of governance and best practice Management experience Willingness to travel Job Offer The chance to work for a superb IT team as part of a global company - international travel is expected As the company and role develops - so will your career options, the next 12-18 months could be very exciting indeed as Architecture maturity improves There is currently a move from ECC6 to SAP HANA so you will have an instrumental role in this in the future Excellent salary and benefits Enviable team and office culture Good location with excellent transport links
