Patrick Court is our client’s care project for adults with autism and learning disabilities based in Burton Latimer in Kettering. They're looking for dedicated, enthusiastic Support Workers to continue the high standard of support at Patrick Court - could this be you? Support provided to these adults will be aimed at helping them live independently and do the same things you would do in everyday life:; this could be anything from domestic tasks and personal care to accessing social/leisure activities. Although the role is challenging, it is highly rewarding at the same time as the little things you do every day will have life-changing results for the people you support. As one of their highly valued Support Workers, you will provide a person-centred approach to service users, devising and implementing individual care and/or support plans with risk assessments to promote independence. An exceptional communicator, you will liaise effectively with both internal and external agencies to ensure a 'joined up’ approach. A sense of humour is always a great asset in this job Their ideal candidate will be a positive and proactive team player who is determined to make a difference in a vulnerable person's life. With experience of supporting people with Autism and/learning disabilities, you will be resilient and confident, able to demonstrate a robust and safe approach to dealing with challenging/complex behaviours. A full UK driving licence is required along with a flexible approach to working hours to meet the demands of the role. The shift patterns at Patrick Court include early shifts starting at 7am, late shifts finishing at 10pm, waking nights and sleep ins (10pm until 7am), and include weekends and bank holidays. A 33% bonus is paid for waking nights and double time paid for Christmas and New Year shifts. In addition, an allowance of £36.78 is also paid for sleep-ins. Please note that due to the needs of the customers, there may be an element of moving and handling involved in the role; as such, you will need to be willing and able to undertake these duties.
